Starlog records a meeting and, a few minutes after it ends, gives you a summary, the decisions that were made, the action items with who owns them, and a transcript with the names of who said what. This page gets you from nothing to your first meeting.
Open or install Starlog
Starlog is one app with several doors. Every door leads to the same account and the same meetings; pick the one that suits the device in your hand.
- In the browser: open app.starlog.pro on a computer or a phone. Everything works there, recording included. On a computer this is also where you record a call (Zoom, Teams or Meet in the browser).
- Installed from the browser (a web app): on an iPhone, open app.starlog.pro in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen; on Android, open it in Chrome and accept the install offer, or tap the menu and Add to Home screen. It then opens like an app, works offline for what it already holds, and can notify you when a summary is ready. What a web app cannot do while recording is worth a minute before your first long meeting.
- Android app (Google Play) and iPhone app (App Store): on their way to the stores. They record with the screen off and in the background, which a web app cannot. This page will say when they are there.
Starlog is invite only while it is new: you get in with an invite link from someone who uses it, or by joining the waiting list. You sign in with a passkey (your fingerprint, face or screen lock); there is no password to remember or to lose. One account, every door.
Recording in a web app
A web app records well, with two limits we have measured and work around:
- Keep Starlog on the screen while it records. Phone calls and switching to another app during the meeting are fine on Android; on an iPhone, come back to Starlog soon after.
- Android stops the microphone when the screen goes off. Chrome cuts the sound within seconds of the power button and freezes the page about a minute later, and no web app can change that. Use Black screen on the Record page instead: Starlog turns itself black and keeps the screen on, and two taps bring it back.
If the recorder is interrupted anyway, Starlog restarts it by itself and shows Paused only when the microphone cannot be reopened. Everything recorded is sent in pieces as it goes, so nothing already heard is lost. The store apps lift both limits.
Your first meeting
- Tap Record. Type who is in the room, so the transcript can name them; with your calendar connected, the meeting's name and the people invited are filled in for you.
- Keep Starlog open on the screen while the meeting runs. The red light shows it is recording.
- Stop when the meeting ends. Starlog sends the recording in pieces as it goes, so a poor connection does not lose anything.
- Within a few minutes the meeting opens with its summary, decisions and action items, and a transcript you can read, search and correct.
Each decision and action item is a card: confirm it, change it, or dismiss it. A confirmed action item becomes a task under Tasks, and a confirmed decision goes into the company's decision log.
Where things live
A meeting belongs to a space: your private space, or a company or team you are in. Private is yours alone. In a company, the people of that company see its meetings, each according to their role. You can move a meeting from your private space into a company afterwards, from the meeting's page.
The tabs: Today (on a computer: your next meeting and what to record), Meetings, Ask (a question across everything you have ever heard, answered with sources), Record, Tasks and Companies.
Languages
You never choose a language: Starlog hears which one is spoken. Danish and English are the best tested; most other languages work. The app itself is in English.
What it costs
Every new account starts on a 30-day trial. After that, Free keeps your meetings and gives an hour of recording a month; the paid plans add hours, questions and features. See Pricing.
