What is kept
For each meeting: the transcript, the summary, the decisions and action items, who was in the room, and the audio for as long as the retention rule says. Transcripts and summaries stay as long as you keep the meeting; only the audio goes.
How long audio is kept
- Trial and Free: 14 days after the meeting.
- Paid plans: you choose under Settings, Keep audio: gone once the meeting is ready, or 30, 90 or 180 days. 90 days unless you choose.
- Teams: 14 days in the team trial, 90 days on Team.
- Secure meetings: the audio is deleted as soon as it is transcribed, on every plan.
A week after a meeting is ready its audio moves from the server to object storage; it comes back when you ask for it. Where, and with whom, is in the privacy policy.
Help improve Starlog
Recordings in your own private space can be used to make Starlog's own transcription better, never a company's, a team's or a secure meeting. It is on by default on personal plans and off on Team and Enterprise, and you turn it off under Settings at any time; while it is on, that audio is kept for 24 months, and when you turn it off the plan's rule applies at once. A guest's phone in your meeting follows your setting.
Recognise my voice
Off until you turn it on. On, Starlog keeps a voice print of you, made from a short text you read, and uses it to name you in the meetings you are in. It is encrypted, used for nothing else, never shared, and deleted the moment you turn it off.
Download my data
Settings, Your data, Download my data gives you everything Starlog keeps about you as one zip file: meetings with transcripts and summaries, tasks, questions and answers, settings, and the audio still kept. It is free on every plan.
Delete my account
Settings, Your data, Delete my account. Your sign-in, your private space with its meetings, notes and audio, your questions and your settings go at once. Meetings you recorded in a company stay with that company. Nightly backups keep a copy for up to 30 days, then that goes too. An account on a Free plan that is not used for six months is deleted, with a warning a month before.
Where it runs
Starlog's servers are in Germany (Hetzner, Falkenstein), run by Entity Investment AG in Switzerland. Which services help with transcription and summaries, and what they may do with your data, is in the privacy policy and the list of sub-processors.
